Healthy Virginia Communities Action Team-HCAT

The Middle Peninsula-Northern Neck Community Services Board’s (MPNN CSB) Prevention Services Division, in partnership with the MPNN Healthy Community Action Team (HCAT), will continue working with local communities in the development and implementation of trainings that will bring awareness, changes, and adoption of healthy eating and physical activities in our daily lives with the goal to decrease Childhood Obesity and Healthy Living.  We are currently working in a variety of activities with youth-serving organizations, schools, faith based preschools, daycare centers, YMCAs, Boys and Girls Clubs, Parks and Recreation.

Some of the projects for this fiscal year are the purchasing and assistance to build Mini-Community Daycare Gardens, continue promoting and sustaining the Woodville Community Garden, continue the education in the purchasing of healthy and nutritional foods, and the implementation of fun physical activities.
